As athletic as it is spacious, the multifaceted MDX was designed to give you the best of all worlds.
While the new MDX delivers maximum comfort for up to seven passengers, it was crucial that we didn’t forget where we came from.
True to our roots and Precision Crafted Performance promise, the 2017 is the most aggressively styled MDX to date, with performance to match.
The 2017 MDX was designed with the single-minded goal of putting the driver and passengers first, and not only did we hit our impossibly high standards, we exceeded them.
With available features such as handcrafted and responsibly sourced Olive Ash Burl and Black Limba natural woods, premium contrast stitching and piping details, and your choice of seven-passenger seating or a six-passenger configuration with body-contouring second-row captain’s chairs, wherever you’re seated, you’ll feel like the MDX was built with you in mind.
It may be, as has been suggested, that the Audi A5 is a polarizing vehicle. Then again, magnets are like that. Of course, we know what draws people in.
The unmistakable look, to start, but the power too. LED daytime running lights introduce inviting illumination, and the tapered Singleframe® grille adds a bold sense of daring and an iconic look to the front fascia.
But one gathers the pos- sibility of more, such as the power distributed by the impressive 2.0-liter turbocharged TFSI® engine and optimized by the quattro® all-wheel drive system.
The details tell the story—sharpened design lines streamline the body, continually pushing the envelope of style while embracing the spirit of our Audi Sport® heritage. In short, the more we tried to thrill onlookers, the greater thrill we experienced ourselves.
There’s an elegant sense of assurance when you are in control. In the case of quattro® all-wheel drive, the elegance is created by a sophisticated system developed by Audi engi- neers to help you with the ability to gain more control when road and weather conditions aren’t their best.
Through enhanced grip on twisting mountain roads and powder-dusted streets—to say nothing of the precision you’ll feel in taking corners in perfect conditions— quattro® works with drivers who want peace of mind as much as power.
Because it was built and honed to transfer the necessary amount of power to the appropriate wheels when accelerating and turning, quattro® helps enhance Audi performance, but the real story just might be how quattro® helps engineer con dence in good drivers.
It began with a racecar whose design was so focused on its purpose, it would forever change the course of performance.
With an aerodynamic body wrapped around a lightweight aluminum spaceframe, the SL racecar of 1952 would establish records that have yet to be broken. Its startling “gullwing” doors were created not to turn heads but accommodate them, so its driver could enter quickly over the wide sills while wearing a racing helmet.
As it collected trophies around the world, it also won the affection of the public, who clamored for a version of their own—and a sports-car legend was born.
Six decades of breakthroughs later, the SL-Class reaf rms its sporting roots — with advanced performance engineering enveloped within an all-new aluminum body, a rst for an SL. It’s lighter and more powerful, for quickness and agility.
Yet it’s stronger and more ef cient, for remarkable civility. Simply put, it’s designed to conquer the open road like never before. And capture your heart as only an SL can.
The heart of an SL 63 or SL 65 AMG is its engine — a work of modern art crafted by the hands of its own master engine builder, and crowned by a plaque bearing his signature.
The soul of AMG traces to an old German mill in1967, where two former Mercedes-Benz engineers set out to handcraft champion racecars.
Success on the track led them to apply their performance pedigree and “One man, one engine” principle to streetgoing Mercedes-Benz models. Decades later, virtually every facet of design, development and assembly — from transmissions, suspensions and brakes to distinctive cockpit appointments — remains a seamless alignment of hands-on experience and high-tech engineering.
The result is an automobile that can satisfy both the highest demands of driving and the deepest desires of its driver.
The interior of the new Boxster delivers exactly what the exterior promises—a light, uncluttered, and defined design, existing to fulfill one single aim: the perfect drive.
The entire concept—from the power and contour to the driver’s vision—are all drawn in the direction of travel.
The Boxster driver’s concentration is kept purely on the road, thanks to the intelligent operating concept and the logical arrangement of the controls. The elevated center console cocoons the driver and reduces the
distance from the steering wheel to the shift lever for fast and ergonomic gearshifts. It’s just one of many ways that Porsche transfers its experience from the racetrack to the road.
The door styling is similarly dynamic. The door pulls mirror the lines of the center console and blend seamlessly into the overall design. The door storage compartments are sweeping and practical.
The athletic proportions of the new Boxster models make it possible to introduce a new interior architecture. The driver’s seating position is low, and from that vantage point, there is a feeling of space and light without compromising the authentic roadster experience.
Ready to assert your independence? You’ll find the ignition located to the
left of the steering column, reflecting Porsche’s racing heritage. The three- spoke sport steering wheel fits
perfectly in your hands. Facing the
driver is a cluster of three large circular instruments. The instrument on the
right is now a 4.6-inch TFT screen that shows information from the onboard computer or information from the audio system. An inconspicuous shroud shades the instruments for optimal visibility.
AERODYNAMIC ADVANTAGE Despite its epic proportions, the QX56 is built to benefit from the forces of air. The upper and lower body of the QX56 direct the flow of air over, around and under the vehicle to minimize the pressure under the car and the “suction” effect over it, achieving zero-lift at the front and rear. Reducing the effects of wind turbulence at higher speeds leaves you feeling more tightly in control and in touch with the road surface.
INDIVIDUALIZED ENTERTAINMENT The Tri-Zone Entertainment System1,11 creates three distinct areas for passengers to enjoy their own individual media. Those in the front seats can choose the audio they want, while the two 7-inch screens allow those in the second row to play their own movies, games or music through the use of wireless headphones. Satisfy everyone’s tastes, and heighten their enjoyment of every journey.
As long as there has been Z,® there has been a soulful 6-cylinder leading the way. In this case, the 4th-generation of the legendary VQ V6 engine.
With a 3.7-liter displacement for massive muscle, this 332-hp dynamo features advanced Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL) technology that continuously tunes valve lift and timing for quicker response and a broader torque curve, while optimizing fuel efficiency and reducing emissions.
And while all this engineering may sound intriguing on paper, the exhilaration – on the straights or through the corners – is pure, pulse-pounding magic.
A world’s first. Included on the Sport models, SynchroRev Match® technology – the first in any production car – monitors the 6-speed manual’s clutch pedal, shift lever, and vehicle speed.
As you shift to a lower gear, the system will “blip” the throttle to the ideal engine rpm for a supremely smooth downshift as you let out the clutch.
The system also works when upshifting to give you a smooth flow of power when accelerating.
Control at your fingertips. Want effortless cruising? Put the 7-speed automatic transmission in “D.”
For a quick gear change, just pull the steering column-mounted lightweight magnesium paddle shifters. In Manual mode, you get manual- style control with a nudge of the shift lever or a pull of the paddle shifters.
The transmission can even hold a gear in cornering for better balance, or downshift before a corner for more effective braking.
And when a downshift is needed, Downshift Rev Matching automatically opens the throttle to match the rpm for smoother gear changes.
One mark of a luxury vehicle is its ability to satisfy just about any need. With systems like the available GPS-linked, solar- sensing climate control, the RL can often accomplish this with no action on your part. In those instances when you do need to make your desires known, just a few words will suffice.
Voice recognition gives you intimate control of a number of systems, including navigation, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink,® and many features of the vehicle’s audio and climate control systems.
The Acura RL is proof that inspiration can be engineered. The vehicle’s performance technologies have been tuned to deliver exhilarating response while also keeping you firmly in control.
Chief among these is Super Handling All-Wheel DriveTM (SH-AWD®). Unlike most competitive systems, SH-AWD can sense where extra torque is needed, then distribute power not only between the front and back but also side to side among the rear wheels.
In turns, the system can send up to 100% of available rear power to the outside wheel, then spin that wheel slightly faster for tighter cornering.
These forces help the RL track with a precision unmatched by conventional all-wheel drive.
